Short on time? Here's the essentials:

Kiera Cameron, a cop from 2077, remains stranded in the past, desperate to return to her son. She relies on Alec Sadler, a brilliant tech genius, for help, while also contending with the manipulative Matthew Kellogg, a former Liber8 member who seeks power. The core premise revolves around Kiera's struggle to get home and prevent a dystopian future.

The central conflict arises with the arrival of mysterious "future soldiers" who pursue Kiera and her ally, Brad. Kellogg, a self-serving individual, kidnaps Alec's girlfriend Emily to gain leverage, but Alec rescues her. As Kiera investigates the future soldiers, confrontations lead to Lucas, a Liber8 member, being fatally shot by Brad. Later, Travis, a former Liber8 leader, sacrifices himself to save Kiera's police partner, Carlos.

Ultimately, Kiera prevents the future soldiers' invasion by destroying their time machine. Kellogg attempts to use the machine for his own agenda, traveling to the past where he kills Vasquez, only to discover she is his daughter. Kiera returns to a new 2077, a better world shaped by Alec, but one where her son never existed.

Season 4 of Continuum covers episodes 1-6. Here's everything that happened:

Season 4, Episode 1: Lost Hours - Kiera and Brad are pursued by heavily armed future soldiers after activating a beacon. Kiera experiences a CMR simulation of her son, renewing her desire to return to 2077. Alec, now in possession of his alternate self's wealth, agrees to help her get home. Kellogg receives a message from his future self. Emily is kidnapped.

Season 4, Episode 2: Rush Hour - Kellogg leverages Alec by kidnapping Emily, demanding stolen Piron data in exchange. Kiera attempts negotiation, unaware Liber8 plans to poison Kellogg. Alec, with Lucas's help, rescues Emily. Kiera saves Kellogg from the poison gas, but Carlos shoots Verta. Emily, upset, leaves Alec.

Season 4, Episode 3: Power Hour - Kiera and Garza ally to investigate the Future Soldiers, while Alec joins the VPD. Brad fatally shoots Lucas during a confrontation. Julian encounters Curtis and Kagame's mother, learning about his manifesto's online presence. The episode concludes with Kiera questioning her trust in Kellogg.

Season 4, Episode 4: Zero Hour - Kiera and Brad's trust deteriorates as he aligns with the future soldiers. Alec meets his future self, learning his wife Annie committed suicide. Kellogg learns his future self needs a dialysis machine, and Vasquez warns him of future Kellogg's creepiness. The episode concludes with Kiera, Carlos, and Alec sharing information about the future soldiers' portal.

Season 4, Episode 5: The Desperate Hours - Kiera pressures Carlos, seeking more time, while Kellogg faces unexpected danger. Future soldiers raid the police station, causing Travis's death as he sacrifices himself to save Carlos. Kiera releases Kellogg to use him to get home. The episode concludes with Kellogg escaping with Brad and Vasquez in a helicopter.

Season 4, Episode 6: Final Hour - Kiera and Alec try to stop the future soldiers from invading. Kellogg, seeking a reset, inadvertently travels to the pre-Columbian era. He kills Vasquez, learning she was his daughter. Kiera prevents the invasion by destroying the time machine. She returns to a new 2077 where she never had her son, but is greeted by an older Alec in a better world.
