Short on time? Here's the essentials:

In "Continuum" Season 2, Protector Kiera Cameron from 2077 is stranded in 2012 Vancouver, working with Detective Carlos Fonnegra to stop the terrorist group Liber8 and find a way back to her family. She relies on the technological genius of Alec Sadler, a young man whose future self sends him a cryptic message, setting him on a new, uncertain path.

The season sees Kiera battling a fractured Liber8, with Sonya and Travis leading separate, violent factions. Kiera vows to destroy Liber8 after a mayoral assassination, while Alec partners with Kellogg, developing new tech. Kiera grapples with her isolation, especially after her former partner, Elena, dies. A major twist reveals that Betty, a police colleague, is a mole working with Lucas. Kiera eventually confides in Carlos, revealing her true origins as a time traveler. Julian, Alec's step-brother, emerges as a significant figure, with Kiera witnessing a bleak future where he leads a massacre. The mysterious Freelancers also become a threat, and Agent Gardiner is killed by them.

The season culminates in chaos as cyber attacks plague Vancouver. Emily, Alec's girlfriend, is revealed to be working for Escher, and is then shot and killed by a Freelancer. Enraged, Alec confronts Escher and uses the time travel device to go back in time, attempting to save Emily. The season ends with Kiera and Liber8 captured by the Freelancers.

Season 2 of Continuum covers episodes 1-13. Here's everything that happened:

Season 2, Episode 1: Second Chances - Following Kagame's attack, Kiera operates as a vigilante, while Alec distances himself after receiving a message from his future self. The mayor of Vancouver is assassinated, prompting Kiera to rejoin Carlos and the police. Sonya shoots Travis, but he survives due to an implant. The episode concludes with Kiera investigating the assassination and vowing to destroy Liber8, as Alec uploads surveillance footage to her CMR, hinting at his future role. Future Alec's message reveals his regret and sets Alec on a new path.

Season 2, Episode 2: Split Second - Kiera and Carlos attempt to transfer Travis to another prison, but Liber8 intervenes. A prison transfer ambush reveals Garza's rogue operation to extract Travis, betraying Sonya. Meanwhile, Agent Gardiner investigates Kiera's loyalties. Kellogg tempts Alec with a partnership, leading Alec to join forces with Kellogg.

Season 2, Episode 3: Second Thoughts - Kiera investigates the future drug "Flash," as Sonya and Travis's war escalates, using gangs as weapons. Alec's friends use Flash, leading to a car accident. In 2077, a flashback reveals Kiera's sister, Hannah, using drugs; in the present, Hannah falls to her death. Travis presents the heads of rival gang leaders, declaring himself the new leader.

Season 2, Episode 4: Second Skin - Kiera investigates a CMR suit sighting, leading her to her former partner Elena, who time-traveled to 1975 and lived a full life. Liber8 targets oil companies, and both factions pursue Rex, a cosplayer who bought Elena's suit. Travis and Rex fight, while Sonya and Garza engage in a brawl. Elena dies, leaving Kiera with a book and a message. Kiera mourns, realizing her isolation.

Season 2, Episode 5: Second Opinion - Kiera's emotional distress on her son's birthday triggers a CMR diagnostic, forcing her to confront her feelings with a virtual therapist. Meanwhile, a mole hunt targets Betty, but Kiera uncovers a Liber8 frame-up. Alec partners with Kellogg, forming Sadtech. The episode concludes with the reveal that Betty is the real mole, working with Lucas Ingram.

Season 2, Episode 6: Second Truths - Kiera and Carlos investigate the "Ouroboros" killer, a case Kiera remembers from 2077. Her future knowledge helps solve the case, but raises Carlos's suspicions. Kiera reveals she's a time traveler, leading to Carlos finding her in the clutches of a vigilante killer. The vigilante is killed by Kiera's weapon when he tries to use it. Alec's relationship with Emily deepens, but she is revealed to be using him.

Season 2, Episode 7: Second Degree - Kiera and Carlos race to stop Liber8 from derailing Julian's trial, rescuing a juror's family. Alec's mother commits perjury, putting Alec in a difficult position. Alec ultimately tells the truth on the stand, and the judge is assassinated. Jim is revealed to be working with Sonya.

Season 2, Episode 8: Second Listen - Kiera investigates the disappearances of deceased time travelers, using Alec to see through their CMRs. Garza kidnaps Alec on future-Alec's orders, revealing she's meant to kill him if he fails to change. Agent Gardiner is killed by the body snatchers. Alec, spurred by his love for Emily, asserts his autonomy. The episode concludes with Kiera receiving a silent call from the now-deceased Gardiner.

Season 2, Episode 9: Seconds - Julian is released, but Ann, Alec's mother, is shot in an assassination attempt meant for him. Kiera's pursuit of Julian is halted by Carlos's moral objections. Dillon makes a deal with Escher, reinstating himself as boss. Julian connects with Liber8, and Kiera sees a bleak vision of the future where Julian leads a massacre.

Season 2, Episode 10: Second Wave - Kiera captures Garza, but unorthodox interrogation tactics raise concerns. Alec reactivates Travis's CMR, creating a link between them. Garza escapes, leading to Martinez's death. Kiera is then captured by Julian's followers, but he releases her. Garza is then taken by the Freelancers.

Season 2, Episode 11: Second Guess - Vancouver is thrown into chaos by cyber attacks orchestrated by Lucas. Sonya and Travis reunite, rekindling their romance and plotting against Jim Martin. Lucas is apprehended, but visions of Kagame lead to his mental breakdown. Escher is revealed to be monitoring everything through a vast surveillance network.

Season 2, Episode 12: Second Last - Kiera is framed for Gardiner's murder and goes on the run with Carlos. Travis obtains a CPS suit, becoming more powerful. Emily confesses her duplicity to Alec, but a Freelancer shoots and kills her. Enraged, Alec confronts Escher. The episode concludes with Kiera hiding the time travel device.

Season 2, Episode 13: Second Time - Kiera races to save Alec from Escher and preserve her chance to return home. Alec, manipulated by Escher, seemingly betrays Kiera. Carlos helps Kiera escape, realizing Betty is a mole. Alec uses the time travel device to go back and try to save Emily. The episode concludes with Kiera and Liber8 as prisoners of the Freelancers.
