Liber8, led by the ruthless Kagame, aims to prevent their dystopian future by altering the past. Their efforts involve complex schemes, including attempts to manipulate time travel technology and assassinate key figures. A major turning point occurs when Curtis is accidentally killed during a Liber8 operation. Later, Kagame sacrifices himself in a massive explosion, and in the aftermath, Sonya kills Travis, taking leadership of Liber8.
The season concludes with Alec revealing he understands why Kiera was sent back, hinting at a larger purpose for her presence in 2012 and setting the stage for future conflicts.
