Short on time? Here's the essentials:

In "Continuum" Season 3, Protector Kiera Cameron from 2077 is trapped in 2012, desperately trying to return to her son while battling Liber8, a group of future terrorists also displaced in time. She often relies on Alec Sadler, a brilliant young tech inventor, whose actions frequently complicate the timeline. The season begins with Alec traveling back in time to save his girlfriend, Emily, inadvertently creating a branched timeline and a new version of Kiera.

Kiera investigates her own murder in this new reality, discovering two Alecs exist. The central conflict revolves around Kiera trying to navigate this altered timeline, dealing with Liber8's escalating attacks, and uncovering deeper conspiracies. Key events include the revelation that Emily killed Escher, a powerful corporate figure. Later, Betty, a VPD officer, is exposed as a Liber8 mole, and Future Alec is sedated and handed over to the Freelancers, a mysterious organization. Kiera learns that Curtis killed her alternate self. The season sees the shocking deaths of Betty and Elton, ambushed by unknown forces. A mysterious amnesiac, Brad Tonkin, appears, revealing he is a time traveler from 2039 and that he is Kiera's killer in an alternate future.

The season concludes with Liber8 fractured and Sonya blowing herself up, killing Dillon, Kiera's police chief. "Corporate Alec" is killed by Sadler, and Kellog seizes control of Piron, Alec's company. Brad activates a beacon, summoning high-tech soldiers from his future, leaving the city in darkness and hinting at a drastically changed, and potentially darker, future.
