He is widely recognized for his roles as Detective Lester Freamon in the acclaimed HBO series "The Wire" and Albert Lambreaux in "Treme". Peters earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical for "Five Guys Named Moe" and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri".
