Short on time? Here's the essentials:

Rick Sanchez, a nihilistic, genius scientist, and his anxious grandson Morty Smith, embark on dangerous, dimension-hopping adventures. Rick, driven by his intellect and often self-destructive tendencies, drags Morty along, while Morty seeks validation and tries to navigate his chaotic life. The season's core conflict centers on Rick's relentless pursuit of Rick Prime, the alternate version of himself responsible for the death of his wife and daughter.

The season sees Rick and Morty facing numerous threats, including a mind-swap that leads to both their deaths, a cosmic entity that audits their past, and a trafficking ring that sells Morty to a wealthy buyer. A major turning point occurs when Rick Prime reveals he killed all versions of Diane across all realities. After a brutal confrontation, Rick finally achieves his revenge, but finds it hollow.

The season concludes with Rick and Morty confronting their deepest fears. Morty realizes his greatest fear is Rick viewing him as replaceable, but ultimately escapes his personal "Fear Hole" after Rick displays pride in him.

Season 7 of Rick and Morty covers episodes 1-10. Here's everything that happened:

Season 7, Episode 1: How Poopy Got His Poop Back - Mr. Poopybutthole, struggling after his divorce and Beth shooting him, overstays his welcome with the Smith family. Rick, initially reluctant, gathers friends for an intervention that devolves into a chaotic, dimension-hopping bender. Mr. Poopybutthole realizes he needs to improve himself before reuniting with his ex-wife, and the Predator he hired to spy on her has begun a relationship with her. The episode concludes with the group reflecting on their wild night.

Season 7, Episode 2: The Jerrick Trap - Rick and Jerry swap minds, leading to both of their deaths due to the procedure and Rick's cybernetics. Their consciousnesses become scrambled, merging into a hybrid entity. This entity, along with the rest of the family, confronts a crime boss. Ultimately, a rake triggers the separation, restoring Rick and Jerry, who immediately resume their animosity.

Season 7, Episode 3: Air Force Wong - Rick's therapist, Dr. Wong, gets involved in a presidential mission to Virginia, which has been taken over by Rick's ex, Unity. Rick struggles with his feelings for Unity and the President's romantic interest in Dr. Wong. Ultimately, Unity reclaims control of the hive mind to save Earth from the President's own assimilation attempt, and Rick begins to accept his own slow changes.

Season 7, Episode 4: That's Amorte - Morty discovers Rick's spaghetti is made from the remains of people who commit suicide. This leads to the planet's president exploiting the practice for profit, creating a dystopia. Rick's attempt to mass-produce spaghetti from artificial torsos fails. Ultimately, broadcasting the life of a terminally ill man's suicide causes universal disgust, ending the spaghetti industry. The family then opts for Salisbury steak, blissfully ignorant of its origin.

Season 7, Episode 5: Unmortricken - Rick and Evil Morty team up to hunt Rick Prime. Rick Prime reveals he used the Omega Device to kill all versions of Diane across all realities. After a brutal fight, Evil Morty swaps places with Morty, incapacitates Rick Prime, and leaves him for Rick C-137 to kill. The episode concludes with Rick achieving his revenge, but feeling empty, while Evil Morty destroys the Omega Device.

Season 7, Episode 6: Rickfending Your Mort - After Rick defeats Rick Prime and falls into a depression, Morty attempts to cheer him up by cashing in his adventure cards. This prompts Rick to call for an audit by a cosmic entity known as the Observer. The Observer shows embarrassing clips of their past adventures, escalating to showing clips of the entire family. After Morty accidentally kills the Observer, they are put on trial by its species. Rick manipulates the Observers' technology, leading to the Observers turning on each other, allowing Rick and Morty to escape. They return home, and Rick acknowledges Morty's efforts, and they decide to pretend the entire ordeal never happened.

Season 7, Episode 7: Wet Kuat Amortican Summer - After Rick gives Summer an "attribute slider," Morty's jealousy leads to the siblings fusing into a "Kuato." They are then targeted by a Kuato trafficking ring. Rick eventually rescues them, and Morty is sold to a wealthy buyer, while Summer regains her social standing. The episode concludes with the siblings having a newfound appreciation for each other.

Season 7, Episode 8: Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie - Morty and his teacher Mr. Goldenfold join Water-T (Ice-T) on an adventure to save Water-T's home planet from the invading Numbericons. They discover that the key to defeating the enemy lies in uniting letters and numbers through hip-hop. Ultimately, Water-T becomes Magma-T and, with his ally Seven, defeats the Numbericon leader Infinity. The episode concludes with Morty and Magma-T completing their overdue math homework.

Season 7, Episode 9: Mort: Ragnarick - Rick attempts to harness Valhalla's infinite energy by dying and entering the afterlife. After Rick is repeatedly killed by Bigfoot and Vikings, he and Morty team up with Bigfoot against the Pope, who is exploiting Bigfoot for his own gain. The episode concludes with Rick capturing the Pope and releasing Bigfoot, who is then given a human body.

Season 7, Episode 10: Fear No Mort - Rick and Morty are desensitized to fear, leading them to a "Fear Hole" that manifests their deepest anxieties. After numerous loops, Morty realizes his greatest fear is Rick viewing him as replaceable. The real Rick, having never entered the hole, places a photo of Morty on the wall, signifying his pride. Morty ultimately escapes the hole, having confronted his fear of abandonment.
