Short on time? Here's the essentials:

"Inside No. 9" Season 2 explores isolated, tense situations where characters' desires lead to dark outcomes. Dr. Maxwell, seeking to eliminate a rival, mistakenly poisons the wrong man on a train, only to discover his true competitor is still alive. Christine relives significant moments of her life, which are revealed to be her final memories as she dies in a car crash. In the past, a witch trial turns deadly when Elizabeth Gadge reveals her powers, killing a judge and causing another to be burned at the stake. A crisis hotline volunteer faces repercussions when a prank caller, his supervisor, exposes his location to the son of a victim. A family birthday party unravels as an affair is revealed, leading to a wife and daughter leaving. Finally, a staged séance turns real when a participant accidentally kills an actor, and a genuine ghost appears, revealing the location is haunted.

Season 2 of Inside No. 9 covers episodes 1-6. Here's everything that happened:

Season 2, Episode 1: La Couchette - In a cramped French sleeper train, Dr. Maxwell's attempts to sleep are thwarted by eccentric fellow passengers. When a dead body falls from a bunk, the group conspires to hide it to avoid delays. Maxwell later reveals he poisoned the man, believing him to be a job rival. However, the true rival, Dr. Meyer, emerges, revealing Maxwell murdered the wrong person.

Season 2, Episode 2: The 12 Days of Christine - Christine's life unfolds through a series of significant days over 12 years, marked by love, loss, and unsettling visions of a "Stranger" in her flat. As her memories become increasingly muddled, it's ultimately revealed that Christine is dying in a car crash. Her life is flashing before her eyes, culminating in a final, peaceful Christmas memory with her loved ones as she passes away.

Season 2, Episode 3: The Trial of Elizabeth Gadge - In 17th-century Little Happens, witch-finders Warren and Clarke preside over Elizabeth Gadge's trial. Clarke, doubting her guilt, attempts to save her by framing Warren. However, Gadge reveals herself as a true witch, snapping Clarke's neck before flying off with her familiar, leaving Warren to be burned at the stake.

Season 2, Episode 4: Cold Comfort - Andy starts as a volunteer at a crisis hotline, Comfort Support Line. He receives a distressing call from a suicidal teenager named Chloe, who seemingly dies on the line. Later, Andy discovers that "Chloe" is actually his supervisor, George, who has been making hoax calls for years. The episode concludes with George revealing he has told the son of a woman who committed suicide (after Andy's insensitive remarks) where Andy works, and a new volunteer, Glen, points a gun at Andy.

Season 2, Episode 5: Nana's Party - Angela meticulously hosts her mother's 79th birthday, while husband Jim hides under a fake cake for a prank. As family tensions rise, Jim and Carol's affair is exposed. Angela, having overheard the devastating truth, packs her bags with daughter Katie. The episode concludes with Angela and Katie leaving Jim, while Nana remains oblivious to the family's shattered facade.

Season 2, Episode 6: Seance Time - Tina attends a séance with Madam Talbot and her assistant, Hives, only for it to be revealed as a hidden camera prank show called "Scaredy Cam." During a staged scare, a participant accidentally causes the death of an actor. The host, Terry (Hives), then experiences genuine supernatural occurrences, culminating in the ghost of a little boy appearing on camera, revealing the house is truly haunted by a past victim of his show.
