Lauren Vélez

Lauren Vélez is an American actress of Puerto Rican descent, born in Brooklyn, New York. She is widely recognized for her roles as Maria LaGuerta in Dexter, Detective Nina Moreno in New York Undercover, and as the voice of Rio Morales in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse films. Vélez has received awards including the Best Supporting Actress at the 2006 Long Island International Film Expo and the 2010 Rita Moreno HOLA Award for Excellence.
