She is widely recognized for her role as Detective Kima Greggs in the HBO series The Wire, and for co-writing and starring in the independent film Slam. Sohn received a Gotham Award for Best Actress for Slam and an Asian Excellence Award for Outstanding Television Actress for her work on The Wire.
